Judging Criteria

On the afternoon of Sunday, 8 October (see schedule section for further details) all teams will present their final solutions to a panel of judges. Team solutions will be assessed on 5 areas:

  1. Originality + creativity (30 points)
  2. Appropriate use of blockchain (20 points)
  3. Prototype quality (20 points)
  4. Impact + sustainability (20 points)
  5. Presentation (10 points)

Team presentations are restricted to 5 minutes, followed by 5 minutes Q & A with the judging panel. How you deliver your pitch is entirely up to you and your team e.g. you may decide that 1 or 2 team members shall present the solution or alternatively every team member will play a part. A projector (connect using VGA, no HDMI) and microphone will be available to use. In preparation for and/or during your presentation, you may wish to explore some or all of the following points, amongst others:

We suggest that in your presentation opening slides, you include your team name, team members’ names and identify the challenge you undertook i.e. legal, financial, health or civic/ security and the specific challenge under the category chosen. It’s also a good idea to rehearse your presentation!

Once all teams have presented their solution, the judges will deliberate for a short period before announcing the winners. The judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal.
